Wayfallen is a single-player space sandbox. The major powers run the map on doctrine and patience, the economy moves real cargo down a real production chain, and pilots are named individuals who outlive their ships. Take it as far as you want - from a quiet trade run on the rim to a fleet the powers have to reckon with.
In Wayfallen you take a ship out into a galaxy with its own agenda. The Zeleth Empire expands on doctrine. The Maradyne Alliance, a year out of the Federation, wants legitimacy by force, and the Union of Interstellar Traders quietly sells all of them what they need. The economy moves cargo down a real production chain, ore to alloys to components to hulls, and prices answer to whatever is actually scarce, here and now. You take the work you can reach and hire the crew you can find. Keep to a quiet ship on the rim or grow a fleet that bends the map; either way, the ledger keeps closing.
A real production chain - ore from asteroids, alloys from foundries, components and consumables bound for distant markets. Prices move on what is actually being mined and consumed this hour, and a shortage in one hex is a payday in the next.
Each major power runs its own doctrine and a slow loop: build strength, take ground, exploit it, fund the next campaign. The Maradyne Alliance seceded last year and keeps score. The Zeleth Empire simply waits.
Hire persistent, named pilots (Human, Zelek, A'Rac, Groeban) who accrue experience across every voyage. The good ones are scarce; lose one and you may not get them back.
Outfit a hull from interchangeable parts: armour, weapon groups, scanners, and radiators bolted around a reactor, shield, and drive welded in at the shipyard. Run it hot for guns and speed, or cold for shields - the thermal posture is the cost.
Factions know only the sectors they have scouted, and intelligence decays without renewal. Recon earns its place as a fleet role of its own.
Each save is its own continuous timeline, computed locally on your machine. Close the game, come back tomorrow, and the galaxy resumes where it stopped, every pilot, treaty, and grievance intact.
Wayfallen is in development by a single person. Built in Unity. Mid-development, with no Steam page yet and no public trailer.
